    very pleased with this computer
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars

I bought this computer to replace a 4 year old Toshiba laptop that cost twice as much.

This Compaq was easy to set-up and it’s a pleasure to use.

The processor is a single core combined with 2 gigs of RAM and it handles

    basic computing with little stress.

The screen has brightness to spare and you can tweak the sound quality.

This computer runs cool on AC or battery power.(much cooler than the Toshiba)

I am very pleased with this computer and windows7 too.

    Nice computer for the price

This is the second laptop I have purchased, both of which were Compaq.

I got this laptop to upload pictures, surf the internet, and for general use around the house. The monitor is great and the picture is crisp and bright. The speed of this laptop is just what I had hoped for. I love the keypad that this laptop has…a big plus for the price!

I got a great deal on this laptop. I wanted a good laptop without having a huge bottom line to spend. I would recommend this laptop…Great little laptop! I don’t regret sticking with Compaq.

The options available on this laptop, including the battery life are very good. I am able to work on things for hours and not worry about the battery dying.

The overall feel of this laptop is also great…it is smooth and sleek and looks great just sitting on the counter.

    Never another HP product

I purchased two Compaq laptops for Christmas 2008. Four months into using my laptop, the screen spontaneously cracked. I hardly took it anywhere and when I did I used a heavy duty carry case. HP/Compaq took it into consideration for repair, at my expense. $429 to replace the screen, I opted out. The second pc has a glitch where the screen has to be repositioned every 30 minutes or so when it goes all white.

After fighting HP on the first pc I have no will to do so on the second. They don’t live up to the “Built to Last” sticker on the keyboard. HP does not live up to their warranty. My 16 family members have agreed to never by HP/Compaq products ever again.

If you want a laptop that will be as useful as a block of dung in about 6-8 months then this is your notebook, and anyone who has had a Compaq will all know how great Compaq supports their garbage. The laptop was always hot even when just being charged, the battery life was a lie and I couldn’t even make it through a movie. In 6 months I had a sound card failure which I lived with, a month later I had the video card go nuts at random times giving me lovely rainbows to look at until it blue screened, I had a ram chip failure which I replaced myself due to fatigue from calling Compaq, then on the 8th month the hard drive died, just died. I called Compaq and got the run around (when I could actually speak to someone) so this piece of trash went in the garbage. The hardware is typical HP/Dell/Acer/Compaq low quality, cheap, unreliable and disposable. Buy an Asus/IBM instead of this, it will last longer and actually has decent support. Ever wonder why Compaq was/is rated lowest in every product line every year and was bought by HP, this is an example. Too bad HP decided to adopt Compaq’s design into their models making them worse and far less reliable creating the dreaded HP/Compaq line.

I bought this for use while traveling in my motorhome and for this purpose it is all I need and takes up little space which is limited in a motorhome. With cell phone, laptop, home on wheels, and being a senor it makes getting away from my small town not so scary for an old lady!
