This is a great little computer! It’s tiny, super light, but highly functional. The keyboard is a little smaller than normal-sized keyboard (93%), but it does not affect my typing at all. The keyboard also has a proper sized right shift key, which a lot of netbooks do not. The wireless works very well. There is minimal bloatware installed on it (only McAfee), which is a plus. The screen is bright and crisp. The performance is surprisingly peppy for typical web surfing, office applications, etc. The 6-cell battery runs a long time (6 hours or longer). I have ripped a bunch of DVDs, which I watch when I fly — it’s awesome on this little computer. Samsung installed its own C: disk image utility on a D: partition (ala Ghost), which is a nice feature. The screen is matte, and so there are no annoying reflections like you get with glossy screens. All in all, an excellent system. Paraphrased for size – Read the original review here.

I’m an owner of several HP laptops during the past several years, and all have been good performers. I just acquired the dv4-2173 and it is fast, has a really great keyboard, and is feature rich (I’m still in the learning phase). Note that it came with Win 7 Home Premium which now has the language package (earlier I could only get the language pack in Win 7 Ultimate). Although it is nominally a 14-inch display, it is very similar to the dv6 – you probably won’t notice the difference…. weight is a bit on the heavy side, but the DVD is removable for travel if that fits your needs. I am 36 and purchased this laptop for school. My main points of purchase were long battery, life, and portable. I am not a gamer or anything involving photo or video editing/photoshop type stuff so I cannot comment on those areas. I am an online student who does online research, classes and use microsoft office. I am very pleased with the performance of this laptop. I feel like I did not have to compromise on any of the things I was looking for. I purchased this for my 10 year old son for his birthday. My only problem is that now I want one too! This laptop is so lightweight compared to the Sony Vaio we have. The pro’s of purchasing this laptop are it’s portability, the fact that if dropped the hard drive is “parked”(essential when owned by a 10 year old boy!), it’s speed and memory size and it’s low cost. I researched for weeks and could not find a better option than this computer for the price, as a matter of fact the more expensive lightweight computers had less memory, features etc. The only con for me is I am not accustomed to the multi touch pad yet, but my son uses it more and at first he had a little trouble but now he is used to it and he likes the feature.
