    Pretty cool!
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This laptop is pretty cool. The sound isn’t too good though, so I had to buy some speakers so I could hear when I watch videos. The face detection is good in case you forget your password but it’s faster just to type it out. I have a bunch of games installed on the computer and it still runs well. I like the alternating backgronds. It’s ability to connect to wireless networks is nice too. I haven’t had any problems with that, either. I say I got a good computer for $550.

    Loving it.

This is the first Toshiba I’ve owned and I really like it. I thought that I would hate Windows 7, but I’m actually beginning to like it. I’ve had my laptop for a couple of weeks now and haven’t had any problems with it at all. I did hope for better sound, but that really isn’t that important to me.

    So-So Laptop, would not recommend
    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
We’ve had this laptop for 3 months now. I don’t like it. The keyboard is really weird and the delete button is not easy to get to. The wireless card cuts out randomly. The touchpad is not very smooth and makes your hand sore.

It also gets hot on my lap and is a little noisy with the fan.

Plus, I’m not a huge fan of windows 7.

For the price, it’s great. But if you are not getting a fantastic deal, avoid this laptop and get something better. My other laptop is a Toshiba Core Duo is much quieter, cold to the touch, and never has problems with the wireless card. Get a better laptop if you can afford it.

    FAST & SMOOTH!!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
What an experience! Windows 7 is a dream…..very smooth transition from XP to 7 , thanks to Windows Easy Transfer. Love, love, love this laptop! Dependable, FAST, and very easy to navigate. Touchpad is a little slow, but I use a mouse 99% of the time, so doesn’t effect me. Overall, would HIGHLY recommend this laptop!!!

    You should be happy
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This was purchased for my wife to use when away from her desktop computer. First, number one thing to do is make backup disks to return it to the shipped config as Toshiba recommends. I don’t know why, but laptops for some reason seem to be less stable than desktops. I do considerable mods and can get myself in trouble, so my experience may not be the norm. It does come loaded with a few “trial” and junk programs but not that many in comparison with Dell consumer versions for example.

The Win7 64 bit operating system, although it is just an overlay of Vista, may still be an issue to you if all your software is designed for 32 bit. I ran into this with my anti-virus program.

My wife loves it to date. Her only complaint is the lack of a paper manual as she had trouble logging on to foreign wi-fi hot spots when I wasn’t around to advise. She wants a computer to work as well and be as simple as a toaster.

Great Computer, but I hate Windows 7 – no Outlook Express!
    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
The Toshiba is a great Computer for the price – all the functions you could ever need and lots of speed; but I hate Windows 7 – no Outlook Express! In fact “No” email client at all – you have to go to the internet to use email and I hate that. It’s okay when you are using wifi, but at home in the morning or late at night I miss my “Outlook Express”. Microsoft once again gets an “F” and you know what that means for the Windows 7 users – we’re get “F’d” too! That why I gave this Computer package only 3 (***) Stars.

the best computer ive owned so far…..
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
dont believe the hype, an inexperianced user will always have the same typical problems that you will see in these various reviews.

the touch pad is awesome the smartest design i have seen to date, its different than the aveage touchpad, super responsive and very similar feel to using a touch screen, the tap function is awesome as well.

no conectivity problems here as all of my equipment is up to date wireless heaven over here.

connecting my printer was actually fun, it was all done wirelessly with no questions to answer or options to choose. it found my printer installed the proper drivers and that was it!

i had the biggest geeks on this planet pick out a lap top for me, after very little discussion we all decided on this exact machine.

i really grown to hate windows with my past vaio/xp combo….yuck! i was ready to give apple a try but the price shyed me away (as it should). after i got this machine paired up with windows 7 my world was restored….i am once again in love with windows!

i really couldnt stand norton security either with all the non stop questions and such….not with this new version, after how i seen the trial version interact i am now the biggest fan of the toshiba/windows7/norton combo…..there is no way i would have it any other way, and just so you know there is no one pickier than me…..on everything.

the screen is so brite and tru to real life, videos stream flawlessly, no stupid latch to claw open, full number keypad, i think all lap top speakers are small and tiny sounding you’ve probley already got portable speakers….use them if you need to…(i dont need to)!

i think windows 7 is the biggest hero here though….its so amazing! its hard to go into it, it would be like ruining a movie for you….

please disregard any negative reviews you read on this machine….that is just inexperianced users that are used to the same ol same…..this machine is different buy one and enjoy it!

i noticed the price creeping back up every day after i got mine thats the sign of a killer great product that is very popular indeed!

i used my amazon store card which is giving me 6 months same as cash….what are you waiting for?

p.s. go for the free shipping, i had mine in 2 days! and buy it from amazon not one of thier retailers.

    Wireless Adapter problems
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I loved this purchase until a few days ago when I started experiencing problems with the wireless adapter. The wifi worked superbly for the first 27 days then suddenly it stopped accessing the net. My network centre shows that the connection is active but I get a “no internet access” message. And while I cannot access the net via wireless, I can connect via ethernet, an indication of some internal problem. In troubleshooting this on the net I discovered that many other people have the same issue. This seems to be one of the shortcomings of this laptop and there is not much support on the Toshiba website.

    Good computer
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I’ve had this computer since November and I love it….it’s fast, connected easily to my wireless network and the graphics are awesome for online gaming. It has frozen twice which i think is partly due to windows 7….hopefully with time they can finish working out the bugs. Great computer for a great price!

    Nervous Mouse
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
The mouse pad is difficult to use. Mouse moves around on it’s on. Mouse is not as active and easier to use when using an external mouse. I would buy this product again knowing how the mouse is.

    great deal and awesome machine
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I bought this laptop to replace my dell horrible machine.. So far I am very pleased it has good graphics and very fast and the 500 gig hard drive is awesome. Its a bit bit heavy but because of the power and the storage its understandable. Great product to buy I just hope the battery is better quality then my old dell that only with time i will be able to tell.

    Best Buy on a computer
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
We looked for computers for weeks with specifics in mind. This Toshiba exceeded our requirements and we have not been able to match it or the price since then. It was an outstanding deal. We bought TWO of them!
